Two Charged in Death of Cheerleader

Gainesville police have arrested two people in the death of a University of Florida cheerleader, who was killed and then burned to conceal evidence.

The suspects, reportedly named as Antonio D. Drayton, 24, and Cassandra M. Kimbrough, 42,  were both charged. Drayton was charged with first-degree murder and Kimbrough was charged as an accessory. The victim, Saleha Huuda, 21, was reportedly the girlfriend of one and the rival of the other.

The two suspects were also was charged with grand theft, abuse of a dead body, tampering with physical evidence and willful burning of land, reports say.

Reports say that on December 30th firefighters responding to a fire near the Gainesville Raceway and found Huuda's burned body. Autohorities immediately believed the fire was set to cover up Huuda's death. The coroner's office reportedly confirmed that Huuda died of homicidal violence before the fire was started.

Reports also say that Drayton and Huuda had violent encounters in the past. Drayton had been charged with battery and theft following an incident in June last year when he allegedly pushed Huuda down and choked her, although the case was dropped when Huuda wouldn't testify against Drayton, reports say.
