Fatal Accident at Houston's North Eldridge Parkway

Houston police were called to the scene of a fatal traffic accident in the 3000 block of North Eldridge Parkway early last month that killed an eight-year-old girl.

The accident occurred when the driver of a white Chevrolet Yukon, with the 8 year-old victim as a passenger, was traveling southbound on North Eldridge Parkway when he slowed due to traffic and lost control of the vehicle.

The Chevrolet left the roadway, went over a metal guardrail and then slid several yards before coming to a stop. The 8 year-old was ejected from the vehicle during the accident and transported to Memorial Hermann Northwest Hospital where she was pronounced dead. Her identity was withheld pending verification. The investigation is continuing.
