Father Charged in Son's Drowning Death

Lewis & Clark County charged Leo Mathis, Sr. with negligent homicide in his son's death, after his son slipped out of his grasp while they were trying to cross a creek.
Reports say that charges were filed because Mathis had tested over the legal limit in a breathalyzer after the incident.
Search and Rescue Crews have been searching for a backpack near the banks of Prickly Pear Creek on Tuesday evening that they believe holds evidence in the drowning death of 3-year old Leo Mathis, Jr. in June.
Mathis was in court recently requesting changes to his bond requirements so that he can work outside the county. Meanwhile, the investigation is continuing.
