Fatal Houston Traffic Accident on Historic Kirby Drive

Houston police are investigating a traffic accident at 1900 Kirby Drive that occurred late in the evening at the end of September.

A male victim, 35, was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital where he was pronounced dead. His name was not released, pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

The accident occurred when the victim was driving his black Honda S2000 north on Kirby and failed to stay in his lane. The Honda struck a concrete median and then a tree and the driver was ejected from the vehicle. He was not wearing a seat belt, and it is believed alcohol was a factor in the accident.

An investigation is continuing.
