A deputy Sheriff attempting to stop a motorcycle traveling southbound on Brodie Lane that matched the description of a motorcycle that evaded an earlier stop by another agency, attempted a stop on April 8, 2010, at about 2am, which eventually ended in fatality, reports say.
The deputy turned on his lights and signaled for the motorcycle to pull to the side of the road. But the deputy called dispatchers via radio stating that the motorcycle had failed to stop and had accelerated to an estimated speed in excess of 100 miles per hour. A few moments later, the deputy called dispatchers again, stating that the motorcycle had run off the road in the 12500 Block of Brodie Lane.
The driver, reported as Reynaldo Sanchez Sosa, 46, of Kyle, Texas, was ejected from the motorcycle and died at the scene. Although the Travis County Medical Examiner's Office was called to the scene, the rider was pronounced dead. The investigation into the cause of death is continuing.
