Traffic Accident at Houston’s Holmes Road Ends in Fatality

Houston police are continuing their investigation of a fatal car accident in the 1600 block of Holmes Road about 2:55 p.m. on Monday, March 15th.

The male victim, 60, was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner's Office.

The accident occurred when the driver of a silver Nissan Infiniti, with three passengers, was traveling eastbound on Holmes Road and attempted to pass another vehicle on the left. Thinking another vehicle was headed towards her after the pass was completed, she veered to the right onto the shoulder. The car skidded then landed upside down in a ditch on the south side of the road.

The victim was seated in the rear seat and was removed from the vehicle by HFD emergency personnel. The driver, his wife, 32, and two children, two and 12 years of age, were transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Narcotics were later found in the victim's possession.
