Indiana Student Drowns in Lake Accident

A 13-year-old Crown Point student at St. Mary's Catholic Community School died in what appeared to be an accidental drowning last month at Hermit Lake, reports conclude.
Sean Woods, who lived in Merrillville, Indiana, was attending a friend's party when he somehow slipped below the water and drowned. Emergency services were called, but were reportedly unable to resuscitate the youth.
A coroner's team was then called to the pool in the unincorporated Center Township at 11 p.m. Woods' death was certified at the scene at 11:45 p.m. Reportedly, Lake County police are investigating.
